This program is designed for children who miss turning four years old by September 1st, the cutoff date for public school enrollment. Our Transitional Kindergarten program provides opportunities to practice the skills needed for success in kindergarten the following August.
The morning program focuses on academic learning while remaining true to our developmental philosophy. In the afternoon, children rotate through learning centers where they reinforce concepts by sorting dinosaur shapes and colors, playing Bingo, and working in letter books. They also practice literacy skills by helping to structure, write, and label their classroom environment.
Our Pre-K classroom includes children with a range of ages, experiences, and abilities. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and multisensory, giving every child opportunities for challenge and success. We use hands-on teaching strategies and manipulatives because young children learn best by doing and actively participating. This approach provides multiple pathways for children to acquire and retain knowledge effectively and with confidence.
